Omega Dice is still in development. It is playable, but it will change, and it may still have rough edges.
While in early access it is available to patrons at the Scout Tier level and above. It will be free for everyone once it leaves early access.
omega-dice · v0.7.9 · Foundry VTT v13+ (verified 14.368) · Premium: Scout (Early Access) tier · System-agnostic (additional integrations for Pathfinder 2e & D&D5e)Omega Dice is a 3D dice engine using Rapier and Three.js to animate the rolls on your game table with deep customization and native webm, mp4 and shader support. Shader support is fully intertwined with our own Premium dice Textures and Shaders. Customization includes, but is not limited to: multiple edge types (Sharp, beveled, chamfered, rounded, faceted, stepped), full transparency support for all four main dice colors (body, edge, text, outline), custom fonts, textures, built-in damage-type shaders and more. Full feature list is added below.
Requires: Wayfinder Core and socketlib.
Installation
Classic manifest install. Premium manifest URLs are issued to active subscribers.
- Get your manifest URL from wayfindermodules.com/install.
- In Foundry, open Add-on Modules → Install Module.
- Paste it into the Manifest URL field and click Install.
Install Wayfinder Core and socketlib the same way first; this module won't load without them.
Features:
- Native WebM/MP4 support. Add a video to the inside of your dice with just a simple filepicker selection. Adjust playback speed, transparency, video size relative to the dice. Use frame interpolation toggle for an alternate look of the video.
- Native GLSL shader support. Shaders are treated as normal regular setting, rather than injected, and the rendering engine is optimized to account for them. Wayfinder Premium Dice shaders are fine-tuned for Omega Dice and use a selection of new options that ensure they look as good as we always wanted them to. Shaders and textures can both coexist on the same die.
- Thirteen bundled shader presets. Twelve bundled, original shader presets for all damage types present in PF2e and D&D5e, and a geometry-breaking disintegration shader, for when you want to snap your dice out of existence.
- Six edge types. Sharp, Beveled, Chamfered, Rounded, Faceted and Stepped. Sharp edged dice do not fit your vision? Pick any of the other five.
- Twelve materials. Standard, plastic, metal, brushed metal, rough metal, chrome, stone, wood, glass, bone, resin and pristine. All complete with impact sounds, transparency values and depth-maps.
- Thirty-one bundled surface textures. Thirty-one high quality textures with depth-mapping to apply instead of, or in addition to shaders. Wood, cheese, sponge, feathers, dragon scales, kintsugi and many more. Surface texture depth-maps override material depth-maps.
- Presets. Nineteen bundled presets, including damage type shaders. But, perhaps, more importantly - the ability to save your own presets, change them on the fly, and import your existing DSN configurations through a window with live-previews of all your dice presets. Share the presets in the chat with a single click for export and import.
- Character-based dice sets. Assign your presets to any PC or NPC in the world. Playing two PCs? Both of them can roll different dice automatically. GM wanting to spice up a boss encounter? Assign separate dice preset to the boss.
- Dice drawer. A drawer on the left side of the screen that can be revealed to allow you to roll your dice. Grab one, and toss it. The physics will follow the trajectory of your cursor.
- Dice jail. Dice misbehaving? Rightclick them while they are still visible, and send them to the dice jail. They'll think twice next time.
- Fully customizable die colors. Adjust edge, body, number and outline colors with built-in transparency support for all four.
- Post-processing. Ambient Occlusion, Bloom, Video Bloom. Enable and fine tune all of them or none.
- Custom fonts. Use any font you've added to Foundry. Fonts which are included in Wayfinder Core and Wayfinder Premium Themes are imported automatically for you to use.
- Customizable number depth. Change the engraving depth of the numbers on your dice. Engrave them deeper, or make them completely flat. The deeper the engrave, the more specular lighting it will catch.
- Per-die overrides. Change Material, Edge, Shader, Texture, all four colors, die size, UV scale, video size, text outline width and video alpha on a die-by-die basis. Two separate shaders, one for a d6 and another for a d20? No problem.
- Sound library. High quality, commercially licensed and self-recorded sounds cover surface sounds, and die-on-die impacts. Nine surfaces. Six impact sounds. Separate sounds for coin impacts, flips, and interactions as well as settle noises for when that one coin just takes forever to spin down.
- Nine surfaces. Felt, felt tray, wood, tray, neoprene, metal, glass, cardboard and plastic all paired with unique tumbling sounds.
- Lighting that follows the clock. Basic holds a fixed studio light at all hours. Time of Day moves the sun across the sky with the in-game world clock, swapping the environment map between sunrise, midday, sunset and night as it goes. Manual locks it to an hour you pick. Exposure and reflection strength can be tweaked manually.
- Live preview. A preview panel that shows your changes live as you make them, docked beside the settings or in its own window. Or hidden. Up to you.
- Customizable, content aware roll-area. A customizable roll area you can resize easily, and fit to your needs. If you are using Wayfinder Gamehub, any rolls made within Gamehub are contained to the game's window at appropriate dice size.
- Critical Flourishes. Select a sound set to play on a nat 20 or a nat 1. Select an animation. Natural 20's can choose between a Victory Spin, and Beacon. Natural 1's can choose between Void or Shatter, splitting the dice in half. Or disable them, if you wish.
- Cinematic Replay. The camera zooms on your die if you roll a natural 20 or 1. Like everything else, it can be disabled.
- Four camera angles. Tabletop, perspective, dramatic and bird's-eye.
- Impact sparks. Dice throw sparks when they hit each other.
- Pathfinder/Starfinder 2e integration.
- Damage-type shaders matched to all non-physical damage types in PF2e.
- Hero Point reroll cinematic. Didn't get what you want? Reroll with a Hero Point. Your die will get pulled back to the center of the screen and flipped with a custom animation.
- Degree of Success Aura. Got 10 more/less than what you needed? The die will light up accordingly.
- D&D5e integration.
- Damage-type shaders matched to all non-physical damage types in D&D5e.
- Results Banner. Display your roll total in the center of the screen. Including modifiers.
- Table controls for the GM. Decide how long dice take to fade. NPC rolls can be hidden, dice can be switched off during combat, and chat messages can be released immediately instead of waiting for the dice to land. Limits for max amount of dice per roll and max amount of dice on the screen at the same time.
- Most common dice sizes supported. dc, d2, d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and a d100. Choose between a two-sided die or a coin. Choose whether the coin is copper, silver, or gold. Choose whether you use a traditional (numbers on die tips) d4 layout, or a modern one (number in the center of the face.)
- Model packs support. Import glTF dice packs.
- Physics settings. Tweak the dice physics with three toggles: Handful Throw, Wall Ricochet Spin and Momentum Spin.
- Deterministic physics. Rapier as a physics engine ensures that under identical conditions (same screen resolution, existing dice positions) the die you roll will land in the same place on every player's screen.
- Adjustable dice amount limits. Up to two hundred dice on the screen. Up to a hundred in a single batch roll. Or five dice at a time. And ten maximum. You decide.
- Performance first. The module was stress-tested using mass rolls of 50+ dice at a time, each with a different shader or texture, color combination and material.
- Dice So Nice compatible. A shim exposes
game.dice3dwith a subset of the Dice So Nice API, so modules that ask it for a roll animation get one. DSN compatibility will be further expanded if necessary. - Accessibility. Reduced motion, screen reader announcements, high-contrast numbers and a colourblind assist, each on its own switch.
- Dice z-layer ordering. Choose whether the dice always draw over your windows, or sit under the interface and rise above it only while a roll is on screen.
- An API for module authors. Register your own materials, shader presets, textures, sound packs, model packs and die systems, throw decorative dice that post no message, intercept a roll, or subscribe to events for a die being built, settling, grabbed or wobbling.
