◆ Early AccessEarly access
PF2e Monster Builder is still in development. It is playable, but it will change, and it may still have rough edges.
While in early access it is available to patrons at the Scout Tier level and above. It moves to Traveler Tier once it leaves early access.
pf2e-wayfinder-monster-builder · v0.8.9 · Foundry VTT v13+ (verified 14.368) · Premium: Scout (Early Access) tier · Pathfinder 2e (6.0.0+, verified 8.5.1) · Starfinder 2e (1.4.0+, verified 1.4.0)PF2e Monster Builder is a comprehensive creature builder for PF2e/SF2e GMs. It applies the GM Core rules for Building Creatures and contains a large degree of automation. Select a trait and a subtrait (undead>vampire) and make a creature in just a few clicks. Scale it to any level you want. Adjust stats, watch the sheet change live, including warnings for when you stray out of the recommended value bounds. Add spellcasting, spells, use roadmaps for role presets as per GM Core. Enable and configure Mythic creatures in just a few moments. Then commit, save the creature to your world, a compendium or copy the statblock into a readable format to share online. Includes a PF1e/D&D5e converter, mapping most common cases to existing PF2e/SF2e implementations, converting saves, DCs and other values between systems. PF1e follows official recommendations in Building Creatures: Converting First Edition creatures. D&D5e is a best-effort conversion based on statistical data from a wide subset of creatures.
Requires: Wayfinder Core. On Starfinder 2e, it is recommended to install pf2e-anachronism, as it supplies the Pathfinder content that some ability descriptions link to and is otherwise missing from SF2e system.
Installation
Classic manifest install. Premium manifest URLs are issued to active subscribers.
- Get your manifest URL from wayfindermodules.com/install.
- In Foundry, open Add-on Modules → Install Module.
- Paste it into the Manifest URL field and click Install.
Install Wayfinder Core the same way first; this module won't load without it.
Features:
- Three modes. Standard starts from a role preset and the benchmark tables. PC-Like follows the 17 GM Core class road maps. Improvise will come later during Early Access as it gets further developed.
- Benchmark tiers. Select a tier for each statistic. The module reads AC, HP, saves, Perception, ability modifiers, skills, attack bonus, damage and spell DC from the GM Core tables.
- Role presets. Eight presets set every tier at once: Brute, Magical Striker, Skill Paragon, Skirmisher, Sniper, Soldier, Spellcaster and Boss.
- Ability library. The library holds 178 bestiary abilities. Add any with a single click
- Trait packages. 41 packages apply the senses, the immunities and the abilities of a creature type. A checklist shows each change before you accept it. Nine types have subtype trees, for example undead to vampire to nosferatu.
- Ability designer. Write your own abilities. The designer supplies the damage, the DC and the area size for the level.
- Strikes. Build Strikes with traits, extra damage and on-hit effects.
- Spellcasting. Add prepared, spontaneous, innate and focus spells, and rituals. The module calculates the spell slots.
- Afflictions. Build afflictions in stages. Each poison, disease and curse gets a DC, an onset and an interval.
- Regeneration and fast healing. Set a value. The module suggests a range for the level, and warns you when the value is too high.
- Defences and movement. Add immunities, resistances, weaknesses, senses, speeds and languages.
- Skills and lore. Add skills and your own lore subjects. A separate skill level resolves the skills of a non-combat NPC, as per NPC Core.
- Equipment. A search field adds equipment from the system compendium.
- Portrait and token art. Set an image for the creature within the builder. If you own any of the official Paizo token packs and the Pathfinder Tokens: Character Gallery module (
pf2e-tokens-characters) you can use the built-in integration. One pick sets the portrait and the matching ring token together. - Design warnings. The module warns you about design problems while you work. A final checklist appears before you create the actor.
- Elite, Weak and Mythic. Apply the Elite or the Weak adjustment. Four mythic kits add mythic abilities and a pool of mythic points.
- Level scaling. Change the level of a creature. The module moves each statistic to the new level. It also rewrites the numbers inside the ability text.
- Import. Import an NPC from the world or from a compendium. The module reads the statistics back to tiers. You can then edit the creature and export it again.
- PF1e conversion. Convert a Pathfinder First Edition statblock. Paste the text into the wizard.
- D&D 5e conversion. Convert a Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition statblock. Paste the text, or drop an actor file. The module compares each statistic to the Challenge Rating of the creature, then writes the result to the Pathfinder scale.
- Conversion report. Both converters list what they changed. They also list what needs your decision.
- Templates. Save a creature as a template, and load it later.
- Export. Send the finished creature to a folder in the world, or to a compendium. You can also copy the statblock as plain text.
- Start over. One button clears the builder to a blank sheet.
- Session memory. The builder reopens where you left it. You can switch this off in the settings.
- Encounter calculator. The calculator finds your party. It shows the threat level of the creature against that party.
